An anthropology class does hands on work

An anthropology class does hands on work.

The Division of Social Sciences tackles the vexing problems of understanding individual and social behavior in all aspects of our lives: politics, family, economy and culture. Students learn about government through internships at our state and nation's capitols, history through archival research, and economic forecasting through hands-on computer laboratory instruction.

Home to three of the UC Davis Undergraduate Teaching Prize winners, the division houses some of the most powerful researchers, teachers and scholars of our time. The three recent prize winners are:

  • History professor Alan Taylor, '02
  • Anthropology professor Henry McHenry, '00
  • Economics professor Peter Lindert, '99
