Undergraduate education is one of the four main areas that are in need of more support. The other three are graduate student, faculty, and program support.
The College of Letters and Science is fortunate to receive private gifts and grants that boost student, faculty, and research programs. Gifts to the college truly make a difference in the success of the college's mission to educate and inspire the thousands of students that we teach each year. Private grants fund important research a variety of fields from science, to humanities, to the social sciences.
In the 2005-06 fiscal year, the college raised over $6 million in private gifts and grants, giving invaluable support in the form of undergraduate scholarships, graduate student fellowships, endowed chairs for faculty work, and important research projects.
