Wayne Rosing
Wayne Rosing is one of the primary pioneering individuals in the computer industry. His extensive credentials include serving as the former engineering director of Apple Computers, key developer of the programming system Java and former vice president of engineering at Google. Rosing’s career success in Silicon Valley and his passion for cosmology led him to be chosen as the first senior fellow in mathematical and physical sciences at the University of California, Davis in 2005. Rosing continues to serve as an advisor to Google in addition to his fellowship position at UC Davis.
Roy J. Shlemon, Ph.D.
Roy J. Shlemon, Ph.D. is a full time consulting geologist and former faculty member at UC Davis. He established the Roy J. Shlemon Chair in Applied Geosciences which is currently held by Professor Jeff Mount. This endowment helps fund courses in the geosciences field and contributes primarily to field courses. A current Research Associate at UC Davis, Shlemon’s specializes in quaternary geology, geomorphology, and geoarcheology and soil stratigraphy.
Sundeep Dugar, Ph.D.
Sundeep Dugar, Ph.D. has made great strides in the pharmaceutical industry since receiving his Ph.D. in chemistry from UC Davis. Working alongside scientists at Shering-Plough, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Scios and Johnson and Johnson, Dugar has been able to explore his passion for a healthier society and contribute to the development of anti-cholesterol medications ZETIA and VYTORIN. Currently Dugar is President and CEO of Sphaera Pharma and continues to devote his research to finding cures for “orphan diseases”. Dugar also serves as an advisor to aspiring chemists in the UC Davis Pharmaceutical Chemistry B.S./M.S. integrated program.
