Peer Advising

As a supplement to the professional academic counselors, the College of Letters and Science maintains highly qualified peer advisors. Peer advisors are current UC Davis students, who serve as a valuable resource to those searching for a fellow student's perspective. Peer Advisors have extensive experience and training in navigating college requirements and resources. Peer advisors can provide advice on topics such as:

  • Scheduling and Registering for classes
  • AP/IB Credit Equivalency
  • Navigating Online Academic Tools
    • OASIS
    • Schedule Builder
    • Major Exploration Tool
  • On-Campus Academic Resources

Residence Hall Advising Team (RHAT)

Peer advisors from the four colleges on campus, as well as First-Year Experience Peer Advisors, make up the Residence Hall Advising Team. RHAT peer advisors give presentations to first year  students in the residence halls on various academic topics like “Planning Your Winter Quarter Schedule” and “Majors, Minors, and Careers.” Full lists of the presentations can be found at
